As a designer, I created a unique interpretation of Japanese idioms for the traditional card game Karuta. The game features an original hiragana typography and a set of colorful and impactful illustrations that capture the essence of Japanese culture. Designed to be simple and engaging, the game involves a "reader" calling out a Japanese idiom, and contestants quickly locating the corresponding "idiom card." With its visually stunning design and culturally immersive gameplay, Karuta offers a fun and engaging way to learn about Japanese language and culture. This game is made from an original hiragana typography, a set of original illustrations, and is wrapped in a colorful furoshiki. Furoshiki is Japanese piece of clothe that is used to wrap item in a sustainable way.
